These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the OffGrid Operator website and your purchase of products from us. By using this site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Products and orders

We sell off-grid communication kits and related gear. We make every effort to display product details, pricing, and availability accurately, but errors can occur, and we reserve the right to correct them and to cancel any order affected by an error. All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. Each kit is built and programmed to order. See our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy for timing and returns.

Pricing and payment

Prices are listed in US dollars and may change at any time. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for every purchase you make.

Regulatory compliance and lawful operation

Our nodes operate on the 915 MHz ISM band and require no operator license in the United States. Equipment is supplied with the applicable FCC Part 15 statement. Radio regulations differ by country and in some cases by use case, and you are responsible for confirming that the equipment is legal to operate where and how you intend to use it. You agree not to modify the equipment in a way that places it outside its authorized operating parameters.

Third party software

Our kits ship with third party software, including ATAK and Meshtastic, which are developed and licensed by their respective projects rather than by us. We configure and pre-install this software so it works out of the box. We do not control its development, and its own licenses and terms apply to your use of it.

Acceptable use

You agree to use our products and this site lawfully and not to misuse them or interfere with their operation. You are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations that apply to your use of radio and communication equipment in your location.

Intellectual property

All content on this site, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of OffGrid Operator or its licensors and is protected by applicable law. You may not reproduce or use it without our permission. Press and partner use is covered by our Press and Media Kit.

Warranty and disclaimers

Our products are covered by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, described in full on our Warranty page. Except as expressly stated there, the site and products are provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OffGrid Operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or products. Our communication kits are tools rather than a guaranteed lifeline. Radio range depends on terrain, elevation, weather, and placement, and no mesh network is immune to interference or equipment failure. Always keep an appropriate backup means of contacting emergency services.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions stay in full effect.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page, and your continued use of the site means you accept any changes.
